Well, by installing Minecraft maps, you will be able to get things like parkour maps, adventure maps, dropper maps, puzzle Minecraft maps, and more! This, without anymore delay, here is how to download and install maps for Minecraft PC 1.17!
The first step of getting custom Minecraft worlds is actually learning how to download Minecraft maps. There are thousands of different Minecraft maps out there, but we have a link in the description above to some of the best Minecraft 1.17 maps. No matter what kind of custom Minecraft map you are looking for, there is going to be a great option for you on our list.
Sadly, the steps to download a Minecraft map for PC is different for every single map. On our site, you will click the green Download button. From there, the process is completely different for every map.
After you have your Minecraft map downloaded, we can move on to how to install Minecraft maps on PC 1.17. The first step of this is actually extracting the file you downloaded. To do this, right click on the Minecraft world you downloaded, click on ‘extract all’, and click ‘extract’. You will then have a folder appear on your desktop. Open this folder and keep clicking until you see ‘DIM1’, ‘region’, and other folders. Then, click the back arrow in the top right. Finally, drag this folder to your desktop. Delete all other folders and files involving the Minecraft map except the one you just moved to your desktop.
From here, hit the Windows Key on your keyboard and ‘R’ at the same time. This will open up your Run app. In this app, type ‘%appdata%’, and hit enter. Your Roaming folder will then open up. In this folder, you will see a .minecraft folder. Open that open, and you will see a ‘saves’ folder. Open that folder, and you will see all of the Minecraft worlds you have. To add a new world here, just drag-and-drop the Minecraft map you downloaded into this folder. Open that map, and make sure you do see the ‘region’ folder. If not, repeat the last step of getting the right folder.
When you do this, you will now see your Minecraft map in 1.17! Just go to Minecraft single player, and your map will there ready to select an play.
