How to Quickly Reduce the Temps of CPU on Windows 10 or 11 Settings
To quickly reduce CPU temperatures on Windows 10 or 11 using system settings, you can make adjustments to the power plan, processor usage, and other features without needing third-party tools. Here's what you can do:
1. Adjust Power Plan Settings
Reduce CPU power usage through the power plan:
Open Power Options:
Press Win + R, type control powercfg.cpl, and hit Enter.
Select or Customize a Power Plan:
Click Change plan settings next to your active power plan (e.g., Balanced).
Modify Processor Power Management:
Click Change advanced power settings.
In the new window, expand Processor power management → Maximum processor state.
Set the Maximum processor state to 90% (or lower) for both "On battery" and "Plugged in". This reduces CPU power and heat output.
Click Apply → OK.
