How to Enable 144 Hz on Monitor using Windows 10 or 11 PC
To enable 144Hz on your monitor in Windows 10 or 11, follow these steps:
1. Check Your Monitor and Cable
Make sure your monitor supports 144Hz at the resolution you're using.
Use a DisplayPort or a high-quality HDMI (2.0 or higher) cable, as older HDMI versions may not support 144Hz.
2. Change Refresh Rate in Windows Settings
Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
Scroll down and click Advanced display settings.
Under Display information, select the monitor you want to change (if you have multiple monitors).
Click Display adapter properties for Display X.
In the new window, go to the Monitor tab.
Under Screen refresh rate, select 144Hz from the dropdown.
Click Apply, then OK.
3. Update Graphics Drivers
If 144Hz is not available, update your graphics drivers:
Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
Expand Display adapters.
Right-click your GPU and select Update driver - Search automatically.
Alternatively, download the latest drivers from NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel’s website.
4. Adjust In-Game Settings (For Gaming)
Some games may have a refresh rate limit in their settings. Check the graphics settings and manually set it to 144Hz.
5. Verify Resolution and Refresh Rate
Go to Advanced display settings and confirm that the refresh rate is set to 144Hz at the correct resolution.
