How to Fix PS5 Pro not Connecting to Wifi Internet (Connection Settings)
0First, test your Wi-Fi with another device, like a phone or laptop, to see if it connects. If it does, the problem’s likely with the PS5 Pro. If not, restart your router and modem by unplugging them for 30 seconds, then plugging them back in. Wait for the lights to stabilize, then try again. This often resolves basic network issues.
On the PS5 Pro, start with a full restart—not just Rest Mode. Go to Settings, System, Power, Turn Off PS5, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. Once it’s booted, head to Settings, Network, Settings, Set Up Internet Connection. Your Wi-Fi network should appear in the list. Select it and enter your password, double-checking for typos—Wi-Fi passwords are case-sensitive.
If it still won’t connect, check the signal strength. In the Set Up Internet Connection menu, highlight your network and see if it shows weak bars. If so, move the PS5 Pro closer to the router or clear obstacles like walls or furniture. Interference from other electronics, like microwaves or cordless phones, can also disrupt the signal, so keep those away.
Next, verify your Wi-Fi band. The PS5 Pro supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. If your router broadcasts both, they might have separate names, like “MyWiFi” and “MyWiFi_5G.” Try both—2.4 GHz has better range but can be slower; 5 GHz is faster but weaker through walls. In the same menu, select your network, hit Options on the controller, and choose Advanced Settings to see the band. If it’s not connecting to one, switch to the other.
If the password’s correct but it’s still failing, tweak the DNS settings. In Advanced Settings, set DNS Settings to Manual and use Google’s Primary 8.8.8.8, Secondary 8.8.4.4, or Cloudflare’s Primary 1.1.1.1, Secondary 1.0.0.1. Save and test the connection via Settings, Network, Connection Status, Test Internet Connection. Sometimes ISP DNS servers glitch out, and these public ones can bypass that.
