How to Fix Mic and Audio Not Working on PS5 (Sound Settings)
If your mic or audio isn’t working on your PS5, it could be a hardware issue, a settings glitch, or a connection problem. Here’s how to troubleshoot and fix it step by step:
Start with the basics—check your headset or mic. If you’re using a wired headset, like the one that came with the PS5, plug it into the 3.5mm jack on your DualSense controller and make sure it’s fully seated. For wireless headsets, like the Pulse 3D, ensure it’s powered on and paired.
To pair a wireless device, go to Settings, Accessories, General, Bluetooth Accessories, and follow the prompts to connect it—usually holding a sync button on the headset until it shows up on the list.
Next, test the audio output. Go to Settings, Sound, Audio Output, and check the Output Device. If you’re using a headset, it should list your device there—select it if it’s not. Adjust the Volume sliders to make sure nothing’s muted. If you’re playing sound through your TV or speakers instead, switch Output to TV or AV Amplifier and test again. For HDMI setups, ensure your TV’s volume is up and not muted.
