Last Scenario is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. A rather typical kind of rpg, but with enough twists and an interesting story to make the journey well worth taking.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

Did some rounds of Hex off screen to grab some of the tiles I was missing. Only three remain to be collected. Two of them will be in the final post game dungeon I visit while one will be collected in the boss fight for today's video.

Since I'm all done with Hex now, I can trade in all my high end tiles for some useful loot. There's some good trade-ins like ten Sacred Orbs for the Ortas tile and eight Infernal Ashes for the Tiamat tile. Even a new accessory in the form of a Lure which causes you to get into a battle every step you take. Rather nice if you're trying to grind exp or look for specific enemies for their drops.

As for the boss today, it's the final battle in the Gate to Elysium. Considering we've taken down three of Alexander's allies from the ancient war, it only makes sense the last challenge is the man himself...and no, he's not in his old man Phantom form.

As you'd probably expect, Alexander is not to be taken lightly. While he lacks the blistering speed of Durile, he makes up for it with insane strength and high defenses, making his 200k hp pool last for quite awhile.

Starting out with his skillset, he has Great Divide. Similar to Xolon's Great Cut, it's his breather skill that's much weaker than his regular strike. That's where the safety nets ends though.

For the ailment move of choice, Alexander has Silent Wind. Decent chunk of damage and can inflict silence.

Then...we have arguably his three most dangerous attacks. Blaze of Glory is just his multi hit attack similar to Durile's Hurricane Arrow, but given his higher strength, he can very well knock out one or two people if the targeting isn't in your favor.

Great Phoenix is a light elemental AoE that does heavy damage. This move is the only reason you really need M-Shields honestly since it can likely one hit kill anyone not packing a ton of resistance or light resistant gear.

Finally, there's Lionheart. Basically, this kills a unit because the damage is immensely sever, at least 8-9k WITH a P-Shield. Oh, and he can use it twice I might add.

So, what do you do against such a vicious opponent? Take advantage of his AI loop. Great Phoenix & Lionheart are both used at set intervals. Lionheart will come out on the 3rd round of combat, then Great Phoenix three turns after before the process repeats. This makes preparing a way to bounce back on their turns much easier to manage when you know what's coming.

Even so, Lionheart is still a major threat. You'll almost certainly lose two people to this move which can be a rough thing to bounce back from...that is, unless you utilize Stance's crisis ability Invincibility. You can fire it off whenever Lionheart is slated to go off and save your whole team from getting melted. Just be sure you have a way to support the high mp cost of it as well as spamming Stance to refill the gauge quickly.

Finally, and this is most important...do not be afraid to toss out Sacred Orbs to get the team back into fighting shape if the situation gets grim. I know I had to burn a few here. Alexander has one you can steal as well if you wish.

Once the hero falls, another massive chunk of exp is gained along with the Alexander tile & Arch-Angel's Halo. The latter is a helmet with high defenses and full status ailment immunity. I believe Lorenza is going to be taking this because it'll let her run the Lord-Sorceror's Gown + Spellcard Mod combo while retaining full status ailment immunity.

As for the Alexander tile, it trades in for the Hero's Soul accessory. Only Hilbert can equip this and it grants +30 to all stats except luck. Seems a bit underwhelming, but what it doesn't tell you is that it also grants immunity to all elements.

Getting real close to the finale of this game. Just have one more dungeon to clean out which we'll get started on unlocking next time.
