Last Scenario is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. A rather typical kind of rpg, but with enough twists and an interesting story to make the journey well worth taking.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

Been awhile, but let's close this journey out shall we? With all 100 hex tiles collected, completing the game means you can select the Extra option on the menu which places you on an island just a bit northwest of Melende. Just to your northwest is the final challenge of this game.

Gear setup is extremely important here as is the character lineup. Immunity to instant death is vital as is earth absorption so you can heal your team with repeated applications of Earthquake.

As for the rest of the spellcards, everyone has a copy of X-Shield. This is a fight you are not going to want to be without any kind of shield buff for any amount of time.

Also important is to trade in the Tiamat tile for eight Infernal Ashes. These deal dark damage to all enemies and can't be replicated by any spellcard available. With these, it'll be possible to get past the first few turns of the battle.

With that, let's talk about the hulking giant known as the Planetary Consciousness standing between me and the conclusion to this fine game.

The Planetary Consciousness, or PC, is assisted in battle by three Biospheres. Each of them have 25k hp and can attack a single target physically or magically. I believe the physical variation can inflict instant death so you'd best have immunity to that.

When a Biosphere is killed, it'll return two turns later without taking up the PC's turn. It won't be able to attack itself that turn though. If you kill it again though, it will not return for the rest of the battle.

As for the PC, it only has one ailment inflicting move in Breakdown. Physical damage to all, but not too bad with P-Shields up. Maybe 1400-1500 to lower end vit characters at the worst. It's inaccurate, but can inflict instant death.

It's only other physical is Meteor Shower, a ten hit combo of attacks on random targets. Damage isn't that bad honestly at roughly 400-550 a hit...if they connect. With high evasion, you're very likely to see a quarter or even half of the hits miss.

Got that? Good, cause that's where the fun ends.

The PC's magical assault is MUCH more deadly. No ailment trickery here, but damage is so severe you need to have M-Shields up at all times or you WILL get one shot, no questions asked. Planetary Nova is absurdly strong, but it's also earth elemental so the fact everyone in my team absorbs earth turns that into a free turn for me.

Its other two moves? Grand Apocalypse is non-elemental, hits everyone, and does 2000-2500 damage with M-Shields active. If it wasn't readily apparent you need M-Shields up for the entire fight before, you know now.

Finally, there's Invertigo. This hits for over 3000 damage to Hilbert & Matilda, both with res scores in the high 400s to lower-mid 500s. That's with M-Shields up mind you.

Finally, the last nail in the coffin...hope you're ready for a nearly hour long battle because the PC has 1,000,000 hp. You read that right.

Starting out the battle, the goal is to put down the Biospheres for good. Zawu has the Gamma spellcard equipped so she can fire off its crisis ability, Nuke, to greatly damage the spheres. Ethan throws an Infernal Ash while Matilda throws a Titan Fist. I want to weaken the spheres enough that I can wipe them out in one fell swoop the next turn.

As for Hilbert? He fires off Stance's crisis ability to keep the party safe for the turn.

Next turn, Zawu finishes off the spheres with an Infernal Ash while Ethan sets up shields on everyone via Mega-Shield, X-Shield's crisis ability. Hilbert begins setting up Enlights. Zawu & Ethan get the highest priority, then himself, then Matilda.

Turn after that...just heal as needed and do damage. The turn after is where you need to get ready for the spheres to respawn. Hilbert tosses a Sacred Orb to refresh everyone while the rest use Infernal Ashes. The spheres respawn before the items go off so they lose a ton of health instantly. On the next turn, Infernal Ashes from everyone not named Matilda will drop them for good.

After that? It's a massive endurance match. Make damn sure Hilbert or Ethan have a full crisis meter in the wings to reapply Mega-Shield as needed. I'd say Zawu too, but as I found out, her hp total wasn't at a safe enough total to survive Invertigo at full health reliably.

Upon felling the fierce opponent, you get a Sign of Eternity which just shows that you killed a superboss. It has no other perks besides that.

With that, this game comes to a close. For a one man show, SCF created a pretty damn fun and entertaining game from start to finish. He also created another game, Exit Fate, which I'm hoping to show off in the future.

Until next time!
