Return of the Dark Sorcerer is a hack for Final Fantasy 6 by Gi Nattak. New characters, new portraits, rebalanced spells/moves, a new overworld map, new events, and multiple difficulty levels are just some of the features of this hack.

As usual, you'll need to find a proper ROM on your own to patch with.

Version being played: 2.0

At long last, version 2.0 of this fine hack has been released. With lots of new changes in store, I thought it best to give this mod a second playthrough and see how it all plays out.

Not much to really say here that the original run covered. There's still an optional extended introduction you can view if you wish.

However, one major change is the introduction of four difficulty settings. There's Normal, Hardcore, Expert, and Insane. Insane is the hardest difficulty which is what this playthrough will be on. Will I be able to go all the way without needing to rely on reraise tactics? Only time will tell.

Insane difficulty's changes will be mentioned when the action starts up at scenic Fraust next time.
