Let's Play Donkey Kong Country 2 - Part 4: Forged by Fire
Starting up the second half of Crocodile Cauldron, we have 2-4: Red-Hot Ride. Most of this stage consists of riding over lava on balloons. These balloons will eventually sink into the lava, and you have to bring them over hot-air jets to make them rise again. Rambi shows up in the first part of this one, so that's always good. 2-5 is Squawks's Shaft, another mine stage. There is quite a bit to get through before you actually get to the part that gives the level its name, though. The first half plays much like Kannon's Klaim with one new enemy. The second half is mostly a flight up the shaft with Squawks. Squawks is a parrot that can carry the Kongs through the air, and you can press B to make him flap his wings and gain a little altitude or Y to make him spit an egg projectile. He appeared in DKC1 as well, but he had a different function there, so if you were doing everything in order, this would be the first level where you'd fly with Squawks. The boss of this world is Kleever, a giant skeletal sword that rises from the lava and flies around throwing fireballs at you. You defeat it by throwing cannonballs that drop down at it, but when you hit Kleever, it (he?) gets angry, and you have to jump across the lava on hooks. After three hits, Kleever becomes a little more aggressive and starts charging at you. Three more hits on Kleever, and it/he explodes, giving you a Kremkoin and access to the next world.
