Then we come to the boss of this area. Hey...haven't we seen this guy before? Apparently, Krow from the first world came back as a ghost, and now that ghost is the boss of this area. He calls down ghost Mini-Neckys (perhaps the ghosts of Mini-Neckys we defeated in previous stages?) to swoop down upon you. One of the Mini-Neckys is not a ghost, and jumping on that one makes a barrel appear at one of three possible locations. After all the Mini-Neckys swoop down, then Krow does...no faster than he did the first time. After you hit him, he moves up to a new area, which you have to reach by climbing hooks and ropes while eggs are coming at you from all angles. He does this three times, and each time, the Mini-Neckys become faster. The in-between area is also more difficult the second time; in fact, the boss and his minions are actually less of a threat than the eggs, which have a nasty habit of coming at you in places where you can't easily react or get out of the way. Once you defeat this airborne avian apparition, you can get out of Gloomy Gulch and move on to the next world. Five areas down and three to go...although I still have to wonder why jumping on birds would make barrels appear, why you can throw barrels at a ghost, and why said ghost will explode if hit too many times with the barrels...
