It's time for our final Maverick! His stage is easy enough, but the boss is a bit of a pain, his weapon isn't used for anything, and there is pretty much nothing of importance in the stage, so I end up doing him eighth and last. Though if you do manage to find a good strategy for the boss, you can get an easy Heart Tank from the stage as well as a Ride Armor part if you have Blizzard Buffalo's weapon. The stage takes place mostly in the sewers, as well as (briefly) atop a large dam. It also serves as the water stage, though only a short section of it is underwater. Toxic Seahorse's three different behaviors basically equate to jumping around and spitting acid bubbles at you that slowly move upward and bounce off the walls, spitting two acid bubbles that bounce on the floor, and dissolving into the floor followed by the above. Between his lack of a pattern and the trouble of getting around the acid, he is trickier than he looks. Upon defeat, Toxic Seahorse grants us the final special weapon, the Acid Burst, which shoots an acid bubble that bounces on the ground a few times before dissipating. It's not the worst weapon out there, but there are much better ones. And now that we have defeated all 8 Mavericks, we gain access to Dr. Doppler's fortress, or secret laboratory, or whatever you want to call it.
