With that, we are finally into Dr. Doppler's fortress. Dr. Doppler Stage 1 is nothing all that special, just the same enemies we've already seen, some spiked ceiling and moving wall gimmicks, and some falling spiked balls. The important thing about this stage is that, if you haven't picked up any of the pink capsules yet, you can get one in a hidden area here that will give you the powers of all four of them at once. Well, that and the boss, which is a rematch with Bit and Byte, except now they have combined together into a centaur-like monster and are busting out attacks that are significantly more difficult to deal with. They are weak to the Parasitic Bomb in this combined form, or at least, I think they are (I just used the X-Buster anyway).
