Let's Play Mega Man X3 - Part 13: The Doppler Effect
We are now in Doppler Stage 3, and there really isn't too much to say about this one. It is the boss rematch stage, so most of it will be spent on that and the main stage boss. There is little to the rest of the stage, just a few corridors of enemies to get past. In case you forgot the boss weaknesses:
- Parasitic Bomb -- Blizzard Buffalo (not the fire weapon this time...actually, MMX3 is the only game in the series that doesn't have a fire-themed Maverick, interestingly enough)
- Frost Shield -- Toxic Seahorse (you can even hit him with the floor spikes it creates if you want)
- Acid Burst -- Tunnel Rhino (be careful that it doesn't get blocked by his drills)
- Tornado Fang -- Volt Catfish (can actually hit him twice if you follow the right pattern)
- Triad Thunder -- Crush Crawfish (though it's just a bit hard to use on him...)
- Spinning Blade -- Neon Tiger (doesn't do much damage, but does lock him into a pattern)
- Ray Splasher -- Gravity Beetle (...I have nothing to say about this one)
- Gravity Well -- Blast Hornet (boy, does this absolutely wreck him)
After defeating the Mavericks again, we take on Dr. Doppler, who is...um, not exactly the hardest boss you'll face. I swear I don't remember him being this easy, but yeah, he has three attacks (one of which isn't really even an attack) that he always does in sequence and that are very easily dodged. Sheesh, and I thought Vile was anticlimactic. In any case, after defeating him, we get some more plot, then we head off to kick Sigma's butt in the final stage.
