Let's Play Goof Troop (Co-Op) - Part 1: A Pair of Goofs
Well, while I'm not finished with a couple of my other LPs, I'm starting another new one...and I'm doing something a bit different for this one. This time, I'm actually playing co-op with my sister, who shall be referred to online as Junebug. We are playing Goof Troop, which is a sort of top-down action-adventure game for the Super Nintendo starring Goofy and his son Max. It's definitely on the short side, but it's a pretty fun game, especially co-op; my siblings and I often consider it one of the best 2-player games of all time, if not the best. And hey, this would be the first time I've ever done a co-op LP and Junebug's first LP outright, so...this should be interesting. (And if you're wondering why the microphone quality is so bad, it's because I don't have a microphone separate from my headset, so I had to use my laptop's built-in one.)
In any case, we take on the first level of the game in this episode. It's a nice beach area that gets you used to the basic mechanics of the game, such as picking up objects, using items, and what to do about various enemies. The boss is Jester Hole, seven regular enemies who come up out of holes and throw things at you. Think whack-a-mole with barrels and bombs, basically. Upon defeating the boss (which, oddly, is the only one to have unique music; the rest of the bosses, even the final one, use the same theme), we get a message about clearing Stage 1, how much time it took us to do so, and what our password for skipping to the next stage is. This will be a recurring theme for the rest of the game.
