If Klauth is in fact the oldest mortal being in all of the Forgotten Realms is something that's potentially up for debate. What isn't is that Klauth is a very ancient dragon indeed and with that age comes colossal power. To a dragon of his age Sar'ken would seem to be little more then a gnat buzzing near silently by his feet, insignificant and so pathetically weak that he's not even worth considering.

Such pride and arrogance can potentially be used against red dragons but it's a very tricky tightrope to walk; if you overstep just a little bit you can incur their wrath and for all but the strongest people that leads to a quick and fiery death. There's no avoiding dealing with Klauth in this game, one way or another we're going to have to at the very least meet the ancient dragon.

Fortunately, we're coming prepared - as prepared as we can possibly be anyway. If we're lucky Klauth will let us enact our scheme so even the odds just a little.
