Last time, we finished up the 'Wild West' era. I regret not opting for the additional scene where you spare Mad Dog. But whatevs... It doesn't affect anything after the main part of the story, so I won't worry too much about it. I started off doing the longest eras in the game and now I've gone and left the shortest one (by far) for last. It's so brief, in fact, that I easily cleared the whole thing in just one video that's less than an hour long. Let's jump right and finish the main story of the game...

CHAPTER 19 - THE STRONGEST (PRESENT DAY)

This era takes places in 'present day', so I'm presuming present day, 1994. In a high-rise apartment overlooking a sleek, modern city... Our seventh protagonist, Masaru Takahara pledges to do everything possible to be the very best and the strongest. He aims to do this by studying the moves of the champs and learning them for himself.

This era presents itself as a arcade-style fighting game. You'll face off against six challengers and then the champion, 'Odi O'Bright'. Your goal here is to learn the moves of your opponents. To learn an opponent's move, you simply have to let them use it on you once.

Here's the order I went in and notes on how to learn their moves:

1) Max Morgan - Max Bomber, German Suplex

Max Morgan is a parody of Hulk Hogan, lol. So obviously his fighting style is wrestling. We need to learn two of his moves here, the Max Bomber and the German Suplex. Luckily, they're both fairly easy to trigger.

Go run over to him and use 'Rolling Wheel Kick'. This should get him to use 'Max Bomber', scoring us our first move. Then stand right in front him and use a punch attack like 'Gale Strike'. He should respond with 'German Suplex'.

Now that we've learned both moves, simply use whatever strategy you want to wipe out his HP. If you need to heal, make for a corner and use 'Focus'.

2) Tula Han - Arm Lock, Cross Heel Hold

Tula Han is a Russian military fighter, so his fighting style is hand-to-hand combat. The guide I've been using said to fight Jackie Laukea second, but it's hard to trigger his special move unless you bind his arms. Tula Han's Arm Lock move does just that.

His Han with a Rolling Wheel Kick and he should counter with 'Cross Heel Hold'. This move binds an opponents legs, so moves like Rolling Wheel Kick are temporarily disabled. Now attack him with a punch and he should use 'Arm Hold'. He can also use both his moves as a counter, so it's possible to learn moves this way too.

Once you've learned both moves, take him out. Heal as needed, yadda yadda.

3) Jackie Laukea - Mano Toss, Aloha Clap, Worldbreaker Slam

Jackie Laukea is a sumo wrestler. Apparently he had dreams to be a Yokozuna, but they fell apart. This is the only opponent that has three moves. The third move 'Worldbreaker Slam' is not advertised like the others because it is a special and very strong move. I don't think this move is 100% necessary, but you might as well do everything since it's such a short era.

I had a very hard time trying to get him to use his special attack, 'Worldbreaker Slam', without binding his arms first. I think I was able to get him to do it once. But if you use Arm Lock and successfully bind him, you should see that red bar pop up. It is a very strong move, so watch out. It's possible a direct hit might take you out.

Aloha Clap can also be mildly tricky to coax out. It helps if you stand directly in front of him and just 'wait' or 'pass'. Manu Toss is the easiest. It's possible he might use it as a counter, so it's by far the easiest to learn.

4) Seishi Moribe - Celestial Palm, Fleetfoot

Seishi Morbie specializes in Koppo, martial arts fighting. The guide told me Celestial Palm would be the harder move to learn, but he literally uses it all the time. Fleetfoot is the one he's quite withholding with.

As far as I can tell, you need to be two spaces away in order for him to use this move. You may need to play around with the position, just keep two spaces away and eventually he should use it.

5) Namkiat - Lookpanjama Kick, Spiral Knee

Namkiat is a Muay Thai champion from Thailand. Neither of his two moves are hard to learn. Lookpanjama Kick could be used as a counter. Spiral Knee needs to be two spaces away, I think.

6) The Great Aja - The Frankensteiner, Tornado Press

The Great Aja is a Mexican wrestler (a little redundant, considering we already have a wrestler). The Frankensteiner move is a little weird, as it seems to hurt the user. Both this move and Tornado Press seem to require that you're diagonally from him, but also lower (if that makes sense).

All this prep is really for nothing, as the special move you learned is all you need to beat the final boss.

Boss Battle - Odi O'Bright

Pay attention to the range of this guy's attacks. You should be able to dodge most of them by staying out of range and using 'Worldbreakers Slam'. He has a lot of HP, but you can wear him down while healing yourself as needed.
