Live A Live Remake - Ch. 10 - The Infiltrator (Twilight of Edo Japan)
It's time to say sayonara to the Twilight of Edo Japan era, because we'll be finishing it up in this video. This feels like the longest scenario we've done thus far. So it might be helpful to summarize the section and what was the objective of each video.
Ch. 6 - Find the storehouse key and dungeon key
Ch. 7 - Free the prisoner
Ch. 8 - Defeat Puppetmaster Gennai and recruit the mimic
Ch. 9 - Secret Bosses (Optional)
Which brings us to...
CHAPTER 10 - THE INFILTRATOR (TWILIGHT OF EDO JAPAN)
The point of this video is to simply conclude this scenario. We are continuing where we left off at the end of Ch. 8, since Ch. 9 is optional and required level grinding. I want to show that the regular final bosses for this scenario are no big deal, even if your character is at level 10 like me.
Ok, so we're still in the room where we fought the puppetmaster. Go back to the coin slot room and exit through the door on the left. This will lead you to the fifth floor and eventually to a room where three men are standing guard. A rat will cause the mimic to freak out or something and it will explode, killing the three guards. If you're going for the perfect 100 kills, you'll want to ditch the mimic before entering this room. You'll have to kill the guards yourself though.
Past that door, you'll kick things off by first fighting Lord Iou's guards. These guys are no challenge whatsoever. Once you defeat them, Lord Iou tells you he has the perfect opponent, Miyamoto Musashi. That is pretty cool, actually. In this battle, I start to develop the basic strategy I use for all fights in this scenario. Basically, we put Oboromaru in one corner and the prisoner in the other. Then both use long-range attacks.
If Musashi gets too close, just try to switch corners somehow. It shouldn't be too hard, but you might have to heal. After Musashi is 'Yodogimi' a woman pretending to be Lord Iou's daughter. Then as you proceed to the sixth floor, another woman will try to trick you. Just keep on truckin and plow through.
Now you'll fight Lord Iou himself and when that fails, he flees to the rooftop, where he transforms into 'Gamahebi', a frog-like creature. I use a combination of Phantom Butterflies and the prisoner's Warning Shot attack. It shouldn't be too challenging, even at level 10.
When you win, the prisoner will reveal himself to be some guy named Ryoma. As the sun rises, some ships arrive, signaling change in Japan might be on the horizon. Ryoma asks Oboromaru to join him and work to improve Japan. You can decline, but I'm not sure what happens. I'm also not sure what happens if you get all 100 kills, but I don't think it's anything meaningful.
