Game: Out Zone
System: Arcade
Version: (JP)

This is the longplay of the game Out Zone, vertical action and shmup game with overhead view, produced and distributed by Toaplan Co.Ltd in 1990 for Arcades.

The game's story begins in a period in the future (more precisely in the year 2097), when numerous alien invasions of Earth left humanity on the verge of extinction. In the game we control a world class cyborg mercenary in a last ditch effort to defeat the alien menace!

The objective of the game is to advance through the levels, each with a boss at the end. Throughout the game, there are several power-ups to increase power and speed, as well as a shield. There are also two combat modes with the "C" item that help the player: one that allows the hero to shoot in eight directions, but with unidirectional shooting, and another with tridirectional shooting but looking only forward.

The whole game is seen from above, in 2D. The player advances in levels destroying enemies and dodging shots and traps. At the slightest contact with an opponent's shot, the player loses a life. In addition, there is an "energy bar", which is actually a time limit: when starting the game, the bar is full, but it progressively decreases without stopping and to recharge it, you have to get a power-up from the scenario marked with the letter "E" in the color corresponding to the character you are controlling. In addition, the player can use weapons such as the Speed Burner (unidirectional, short distance, but quite powerful) and Super Ball (which allows you to hit enemies with circular attacks). In addition to traditional weapons, players have Smart Bombs (which explode all enemies on the screen, in addition to defusing shots and serving to damage bosses)

It's a good game, with a good soundtrack and quite intense. The game also has a very high level, which requires quick reflexes and strategy to beat the levels.
The video was recorded in 2 Players and using the Japanese version for additional scenes (just use the japanese bios and the game will detect the version). Hope you like it.
