3Fun fact: the stage music triggers a copyright claim. It's a remix of Jenova from Final Fantasy VII. Wasn't expecting that. If I ever come back to this stage, I'll probably change the music.
Most of this stage isn't too bad. I really liked the parts where you can skip past enemies blocking screen transitions with Tengu Blade. Also, I will take any and all chances to not have to fight Cutting Wheels. Real awful enemies that have way too much health.
The actual annoying part of the stage is having to play around the Cossack 2 Platforms. They're placed in ways where you'll always have to wait for them. But man, I ain't got time for that shit so I just damage tank everything. I try to make use of Blast Wind when I can, but some of these just ain't placed well for that.
This run beats the previous normal record, MystSvin's 1:57. For improvements, there's a lot of time to save. First, I don't know if the room where you have to zigzag while waiting for Cossack 2 Platforms was optimal. It sure didn't feel like it. Secondly, the room right after that. I don't know if tanking a hit from the Skullmet and moving through would be faster than what I do here where I wait for it to die with Rain Flush. Then in the section with the two ladders side by side, I take a hit from a Cossack 2 Platform at the top of the ladder. That definitely lost me some time over just waiting for it. And finally, my Giant Suzy fight was really bad. Usually I'd redo the stage with a time this bad, but blah, I'm not feeling it.
