Megaman X Mavericks Final is a rpg fangame by maddrex77 set in the Megaman X universe. Included are remastered versions of the first three games and a brand new fourth chapter depicting events that happened after the third game.

If you wish to download the game, head to the link below and pick it up (and to check out the original versions of Mavericks 1-3 if you so desire):

Well now, it's time. This has been something I've been waiting to see come out since it was first announced. Let's see where this crazy train of a story heads next, shall we?

The game picks up right where Mavericks 3 left off. Bad guys dead, good. Gate finding a piece of wreckage that contains a portion of the Zero Virus and turning him more evil? Bad!

Cue a strange reading at Abel City. Time for X & Zero to deploy and go investigate!

Stat wise, it's much like how it's been since Mavericks 2. Zero has a slight edge over X in every stat except WE (basically MMX universe's mp system). The catch? He actually levels a bit quicker than X now. Nothing extreme, but interesting regardless.

Anyways, this intro stage serves only as a giant cutscene-esque stage. Yeah there's items and obstacles, but only the latter has any real merit as you'll need to press your Shift button to jump past any in your way or suffer damage.

There are a couple new things in play though. First, a few NPCs dot the stage and can be conversed with if you wish. More importantly though is the grid icon you see at the start. Standing over it and activating it will give you a map of the area to show you how large a level is (relatively speaking).

As the duo passes through some boss gates, they find a dead end. Cue a boss who's...the same giant plump robot seen in Mavericks 2? I guess he wants a rematch after being torn apart in that game.

Sadly, he got hit with the same nerf bat of doom Sigma did in Mavericks 3's intro stage. All of his attacks are going to do around 18 points of damage to the duo, but said attacks are also known as animated attacks.

Basically, animated attacks are fixed damage moves which seem like they're healing the boss, but they aren't. It's just giving you a rough estimate of how much hp the boss has left. It can work against you though for if you fire an attack off right before the boss acts, it won't register any damage (I believe) while the boss gets free damage (and sometimes acts twice just because you tripped it).

In any case, after the boss dies, a ladder is revealed going down to a save point. Don't need this since it's all cutscenes from here on out.

Past the next door is none other than Gate. Apparently he's answering to his "master". Probably Sigma again no doubt!

After some banter, Gate manages to be extremely competent and activate a time gate that sucks in the intrepid duo, forcing them to go back to the past while Gate shenanigans it all up in the future.

Bad news? Unless future Zero, Ciel, Harpuia, and Fefnir have some crazy psychic powers, they're not gonna be able to help.

The good news? Someone else has psychic powers. None other than Duo from Megaman 8 seems to be on his way to help, but who knows.

In any case, sending our duo back to the past manifests itself in the original trilogy. You can save your game or pick any one of the three game to revisit and see how X & Zero's adventure came to where it is now.

The trilogy begins anew with Mavericks 1 next time!
