MiSTer FPGA - Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha [Nash 1cc] / Capcom CPS-2 Arcade [BETA]
Trying CPS-2 on MiSTer for the first time and decided to learn a new character in Street Fighter Alpha 2. Nash/Charlie is obviously very similar to Guile, but has some pretty big distinctions. Like all characters in this game you're given a great set of normal moves to use. His somersault kick however, is kind of finicky compared to Guile's. It's a bit harder to hit and there are more distinct differences to where it hits an enemy, depending on the strength you use. With Nash's move set, there is an insane amount of pressure you can put on enemies- seemingly always having an answer for everything, so long as you're properly charged.
Very fun character to play, and I look forward to digging in to more characters, since this is the least played out of the Alpha series for me. It really is a great game. The version I'm playing in this video doesn't see much light in tournaments, with the preferred competitive version still being the original Japanese release, and it's broken elements intact. I like exploring this newer version and plan on learning a couple more characters for future videos, and maybe revisiting some old favorites. Top-notch Street Fighter action.
I played the Alpha series, and Street Fighter in general, mostly on consoles. Still adapting to arcade stick for some stuff I took for granted back then, like 3xpunch and 3xkick buttons. Some stuff I can do easier with stick now, other stuff I'm still learning, like being consistent with Akuma's Raging Demon, etc..
