Spring 1945: Nazi Germany, once the thrumming heart of the fascist Axis, has grown tachycardic. With the Wehrmacht hemorrhaging and the dictatorship’s top brass in utter panic, the question of defeat drifted from a matter of possibility to one of specificity in just a few months. Though there are remnant squads still eking out territory in the hopes of an unlikely upset, it’s not that conspiratorial to suggest they know they’re dead men walking, greased on by wistful delusions and jingoistic rhetoric.

However, though the Nazis are a desiccating hydra, a new rival is lurking in the wings. The Soviets, indubitably menaced by the might of the American war machine and Operation Paperclip, have initiated their own efforts to poach the best and brightest (and arguably irredeemable) of the German apparatus. Without a belligerent buttressing a reason for cohesion, the core differences between the USA and the USSR slowly deteriorated from immaterial to irreconcilable. Sure enough, Operation Osoaviakhim is as much of a counterintelligence program as it is a divorce filing.

Nevertheless, your primary focus is on liquidation, not legislation. It doesn’t matter if the NKVD caught wind of Los Alamos or what was bound to be delivered to Hiroshima that very August; your task is as straightforward as it is ornate. With Berlin on the precipice of devastation and a quintet of Germans intimate with the Nazi Rocket Program about to be ferried out of the city by the Reds for their own purposes, you must assassinate them to properly twist the knife on your soon to be ex-comrades.

Your first two targets, Generalmajor Hans von Eisenberg and Dr. Gunther Kreidl, may not be the most strenuous parties to eliminate, but that still isn’t due reason to dawdle. It’s fair to assume those sitting ducks will have pertinent information on the remaining three targets, so get going before the V2 has a chance at a rebirth beneath the hammer and sickle.
