The chance of Schwaiger merely being capped in captivity was cause enough for you to make the journey through the night back to Berlin, racing against a clock ticking ever closer to his execution.

However, you aren’t the only one muscling back into the city. The Red Army, armed with lethal bolt-action Mosins, PPSH-41s that can shred their targets to hamburger, and soldiers that have the upper hand, are moving in for the kill. Despite any official proclamation of alliance between Washington and Moscow, evidence of your meddling in the assassinations of Maj. Gen. Von Eisenberg and Dr. Kreidl hasn’t gone unnoticed by their squads, often finding the results of your skirmishes during their patrols. Expect them to shoot on sight, no chance for a rebuttal.

That being said, the Soviets’ trigger-happy marksmanship can also be exploited as the key to delaying Schwaiger’s execution. The Kaiser-Friedrich Museum, now reduced to a decrepit Nazi base camp, is directly in the crosshairs of their forward march. Given the breaching explosives the Russians have for paths choked with rubble, the bridge required to access the island its located on, and straightforward rooftop access thanks to unsurprisingly neglected renovations, the pieces are in place for a perfect false flag. Cause this erudite powder keg to explode, and you’ll stretch the German lines thin enough for you to infiltrate the evening’s gunpoint rendezvous.
