Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! Playthrough 7: The Fountain of Cerulean
Before entering Cerulean City, I show that you can get more Moon Stones every day, and since there are four Pokémon that evolve with a Moon Stone, it's good to get a few for Pokédex completion. There is someone inside Mt. Moon who gives you ten Poké Balls if you run low on them. Then we check out Cerulean City and look around the place to see what's there, including the fountain. You can also deposit your partner Pokémon, Pikachu or Eevee into your Pokémon Box, this should give players a challenge.
As the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description.
Route 4 is up next, and there is one new encounter on this route, there is a 5% chance you can find Psyduck. If caught above Level 9, Psyduck should have Water Gun, and because it has Scratch, teach it Headbutt for a better early game Normal-type move. It learns Confusion at Level 14, Disable at Level 23, Psybeam at Level 27, Screech at Level 32. The downside to Psyduck is that it isn't until Level 33 that it will evolve into Golduck. It can learn Surf through level up at Level 42, Amnesia at 53, and Hydro Pump at 63. Since you get the TM for Scald quite soon, this will be Psyduck's main move for most of the game. Golduck has very well rounded stats and good Special Attack. I would say it's decent, but you will be stuck with Psyduck until Level 33.
When you arrive at Cerulean City, you can pick up a Level 12 Bulbasaur if you have caught 30 Pokémon or more. This Bulbasaur will make a great addition to your team had you not caught one in Viridian Forest, and since you can evolve it into Ivysaur in four levels, it is a great option against the upcoming Gym.
There is also an in-game trade in the Pokémon Center where you can trade a Rattata for that Trainer's Rattata. This Rattata will be in its Alola Form, which is a form introduced in Pokémon Sun & Moon where it is a different type and have different stats, and these are Kanto Pokémon came from the Alola Region, in this case, Rattata's Alola Form is a Dark/Normal-type, another name for it is Alolan Rattata. Thanks to its Dark-typing, Alolan Rattata can get STAB from Bite, and when taught Headbutt, it has a great chance of flinching opponents thanks to its good Speed stat. As it is a traded Pokémon, Alolan Rattata will gain extra experience, and it can learn Crunch at Level 18. When evolved into Alolan Raticate, it can get Sucker Punch at Level 34. The difference between Raticate's Alola Form compared to the normal Raticate is that it has lower Speed and Attack, but a bit more bulk. Alolan Rattata isn't a bad choice for a temporary Pokémon, and since there aren't many Dark-types available in this game, it's not a bad team member.
As for the Bike Shop, you cannot get a bike, and when his dialogue goes very fast, you don't have any control over it. We also get to see Officer Jenny in Cerulean City, another character from the Pokémon Anime. This is a remake of Pokémon Yellow which has some references to the Pokémon Anime.
There is a Move Tutor in Cerulean City who will teach your partner Pokémon a special move. Pikachu can learn Zippy Zap, a 50 Power Physical Electric-type move with priority and will always score critical hits.
For Eevee's moves, it can get Bouncy Bubble, a Water-type Special move that restores Eevee's HP when it deals damage. Buzzy Buzz, an Electric-type Special move that paralyzes the target, and Sizzly Slide, a Fire-type Physical move that burns the target. All of them are 90 Base Power, and give Eevee a lot of versatility. There are special moves that Pikachu or Eevee use when their Friendship is high, those moves are Pika Papow and Veevee Volley respectively, both are very powerful and never miss.
Then we get the Rival fight, and he now has an Oddish, this shouldn't be a difficult fight, for Let's Go Eevee players, Buzzy Buzz is good against Pidgey, Sizzly Slide against Oddish, and if you caught a Geodude, this gives you a good chance against Pikachu.
There is a very funny typo where if you opponent uses a Potion, it will say "You used a Potion", where it was really your opponent.
