Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! Playthrough 8: Crossing the Golden Bridge
I learn from my rival that there is a talking Pokémon in Bill's House, so we go to Nugget Bridge, which I like the design of in this game, because I remember it being a golden bridge in HeartGold & SoulSilver. I battle five Trainers there and then set off on the way to see Bill.
As the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description.
Route 24 is home to the Nugget Bridge, where five Trainers challenge you to a battle, and you can earn a Nugget after beating those Trainers. There are two new encounters and one special spawn, and this also goes for Route 25 as well.
First up is Venonat, when caught at Level 12 or higher, it will have Confusion right away. Venonat has well rounded stats, but not quite high, it learns Poison Powder at Level 14, and Stun Spore at Level 16. What Venonat is good at is inflicting status conditions to support the team, it eventually learns Psybeam at Level 20, which is a good move for the point in the game it learns it at. It gets Sleep Powder at Level 24 and Leech Life at Level 28. The downside to Venonat is that it isn't until Level 31 that it will evolve into Venomoth, but it will learn Gust after evolving. Venomoth has good Speed and Special Attack, and it gets Psychic at Level 37, Bug Buzz at Level 46, and Quiver Dance at Level 55. Even though it isn't till a bit late in the game Venomoth learns its good moves, it's not a bad Pokémon. If you like the Pokémon, then you can use it, but I wouldn't say Venonat isn't the best Pokémon to use, but it can be useful.
Meowth is exclusive to Pokémon Let's Go, Eevee! Unfortunately for Meowth, it is a Normal-type like Eevee, which means that Eevee will outclass Meowth, or even Persian due to Eevee's versatility in moves. The nice thing about Meowth is that it will have Bite, Fake Out and Pay Day when caught. It learns Screech at Level 23, and Fake Out at Level 27. It will learn Swift when it evolves into Persian, but since Abilities are not in the game, Persian will not get the boost from Technician. It gets Nasty Plot at Level 37, so if you decide to go for Special moves like Thunderbolt and Dark Pulse on Persian, Nasty Plot boosts that Special Attack stat, and it learns Play Rough at Level 47. Persian has very high Speed, but below average stats, I unfortunately cannot recommend Meowth, it's not a bad Pokémon, it's just that it is outclassed by the partner Eevee as a Normal-type Pokémon.
For the special spawn of this route, Squirtle can be found on those routes. It starts with Bubble, and can be taught Headbutt by TM. Since you get the TM for Scald very soon, this will be Squirtle's main move for most of the game. As a Wartortle, it will learn Bite at Level 27, and even though it can get Water Gun and Bubble Beam, it is outclassed by Scald. Its final evolution, Blastoise has very good Defenses, it learns Protect at Level 44, Headbutt at Level 54, and its last two moves it learns, Hydro Pump and Skull Bash are learned very late. Squirtle is a defensive Pokémon, and a great team member, so if you can find one, it can be helpful.
When you have caught 50 Pokémon, a Trainer on this route will give you a Charmander, it is Level 14, so you should be able to evolve it into Charmeleon in two levels, and is much better than trying to find a Charmander on Route 3.
There are some new TMs, Thunder Wave and Seismic Toss. I wouldn't say these moves are great, Thunder Wave is useful for paralyzing foes, and Seismic Toss does set damage, unless you are using a Chansey on your team, then I would see why you would use Seismic Toss.
Next up is Bill's House, and I feel like the Pokémon that Bill turns into is different. In FireRed & LeafGreen, he was a Clefairy. He was a Kabuto in the Anime, and in this game, he is a Nidorino. His information on the PC is different, because in the original games, you can view Eevee and its evolutions, but in this game, you read about the three Legendary Birds.
