2There are 2 trainers here I battled. I need to reach the first one with more than one fourth of my health left because of Drifloon's Aftermath. The next trainer has a now easy Shieldon. Then I healed up at the Resort Lake Hotel and dodged some trainers on my way to Pastoria City. There is also a short patch of grass I took the risk of crossing without a Repel.
I went straight to the gym and my rival stopped me. He is stronger now and Staravia is still an annoying lead. 2 Returns are needed to KO it and it still used Double Team a lot. I barely survived a Flame Wheel from Monferno and both it and Roselia are OHKO's thanks to Earthquake. I healed up to be certain during Buizel and OHKO'd it with Razor Leaf . Then I entered the gym.
Torterra has an advantage over the Water types here, but I still need to be careful. Both Wingull and Pelipper can confuse me and Wing Attack is super effective. I went as fast as possible through the gym and only the Fishermen are not required. Then I saved before facing Crasher Wake.
