QEMU Classic Retro Games on MacBook Air M1 -- Rayman 2: The Great Escape (1999) (3Dfx)
It is as simple as ripping the CD, install & play. No fans' made patches, no CD-crack and cumbersome tutorials on getting Windows games to play on macOS. Absolutely no dealing with rotting junkyard retro PC parts, building/troubleshooting yet another retro PCs for old-time, favorite games, the hassles, desk space and time wasted. QEMU Virtual Machine puts your old-time, favorite games right at your fingertips in the peace-of-mind of VM isolation. It is the One Virtual Machine solution for Retro Games that works consistently the same way across Windows, Linux and macOS.
QEMU Virtual Machines render Games in true 3D graphics acceleration. One gets to play the Games at high-resolution, near 60 FPS V-Sync locked gameplay, high-quality audio/music and input latency that closely matches real-time. While "the other camp" PC emulators may also play this Game due to its low CPU requirement, lacking GPU acceleration makes them a BIG JOKE compared to QEMU's unmatched quality & performance for Games. Most often, "the other camp" had the ugly facts hidden behind their videos about 640x480 low-res, low-quality gameplay and playable frame-rate that was too embarrassed to show on-screen.
This channel offers Games demos with facts & honesty. All videos made their best to show performance stats, selected graphics options and resolutions to let viewers judge the Games playability by themselves. And for those who supported & donated to the project, their issues with Games Election will be attended swiftly and professionally without any **BS** . When Games demos showed up on this channel, one will rest be assured that they are fully tested, qualified & work great with QEMU most likely in "pristine condition" and retail originality.
Rayman 2: The Great Escape supports 3Dfx Glide and DirectX6 renderer. Both work great with QEMU. The DirectX6 renderer supports **ANY** high-resolution while matches 3Dfx Glide renderer in quality. This demo nevertheless opted for 3Dfx Glide renderer due to its simplicity with OpenGLide. For any 3Dfx games that work fine with OpenGLide, it is a showcase for ALL, for those supported & donated to the project as well as those paved their ways through the Journey of FOSS.
A BIG THANK YOU for ALL who supported & donated to qemu-3dfx for Game Preservation!!
