R-Type Final 2 Stage 3.0 with Valkyrie R-Typer
6This video is part of a much larger set that will encompass a ship showcase. This is the fifteenth video that I recorded.

The Valkyrie is part of the OF series of ships from irem's Image Fight. I already recorded the Kaguya, but the weapons were different enough on the Valkyrie that I went ahead with this one too. The red weapon is a wide shooting group of bubbles that covers a large portion of the screen in front or behind your ship. The blue weapon fires at 45 degree angles from the top and bottom of the Force, and doesn't shoot from the front. The yellow weapon is much like the Leo's, firing a pair of beams that bend at 90 degree angles to home in on enemies. Seriously though, the red weapon outclasses everything else. Having the Force detached makes it fire in the standard pattern and behave the same. Throwing the Force also makes your Pods launch out.The Bits are a pair of Blue Pods that only fire in front of the ship, which is fine, because you can move around and not have to worry about aiming them. The missiles are standard homing, and are good all around.
I heard a lot of complaining when the game was new that stage 3.0 feels unfinished, but I never had that thought. I always thought it was a sterile lab with a bunch of battleships, and it was fine. It's not as detailed as say... stage 4.0 in R-Type Final, but it's still fine, and it has great music.
The boss is another version of the battleship from R-Type, wherein you have to avoid bullets from the core, and fire at its weak point when it's exposed. The shooting pattern changes a little bit on R-Typer, so practice is necessary when you first play this difficulty.
