R-Type Final 2 Stage X5.0 Desert with Leo R-Typer

The Leo is a really powerful ship with some great weapons. The red weapon is a continuous laser beam that deals insane amounts of damage. The blue weapon fires straight ahead and two beams from the top and bottom of the Force at 45 degree angles and they reflect on the terrain. The yellow weapon is a fire and forget laser that bends at 90 degree angles to hit enemies. The Force fires in the standard pattern and behaves the same as a standard Force. The missiles are standard homing, and are good for any occasion. The Psy Bits give you both Bits from a single pickup, fire whatever color laser you have attached, and will even fire normal bullets when the Force is detached. The Wave Cannon is only a single loop charge, and the Psy Bits will fly out and home in on enemies when you fire it.
The Distorted Ecosystem is Twisted Ecology from R-Type Final. When you shoot the red door, it dries the environment up. When you shoot the blue door, it fills it up with water. With the Leo, you can see that I took the desert path.
The boss is Negus O Shim, and it used to be a hanging sack that spawned its weak point on either side of it, sending out its tentacles to fire bullets in R-Type Final. In R-Type Final 2, you can see that it floats around dropping pods. In the desert variation, they fall to the ground and explode. Hitting the weak point is difficult while managing the pods, so I used the Psy Bits to kill them and weaken the boss for me. I often time this boss out because I can't kill it fast enough with normal ships, trying to manage the pods.
R-Type Leo was an arcade only game that didn't give you a Force device, letting you get Bits from pickups. The weapons were the same in that game. It had a nice soundtrack, like with all shmups.
I like how the Leo looks more archaic graphically than its successor. The Leo II looks much more sleek than the original. Even the lasers look more modern when firing.
