R-Type Final 2 Stage X3.0 with Principalities R-Typer

This ship and its successor are fire based ships. The red weapon fires a stream of flames straight ahead. The blue weapon fires flames that come from 45 degree angles from the top and bottom of the Force and leave an explosive AoE on contact. The yellow weapon fires a curving flame that wraps around the top of the ship when the Force is in front and around the bottom of the ship when it's on the back. It's extremely short range and very difficult to use - best to stick with the red or blue weapons. The Round Bits will fire flames when the red weapon is in effect - a nice touch. When the Force is detached, it shoots in the standard way, only the bullets are red, another nice touch. I was using the Scatter Bomb missile, which gives great ground coverage, arcing from the ship and leaving an AoE trail on the ground. The Wave Cannon is a flame thrower that you need to leave on target to deal maximum damage with, so it's not as fast as a regular Wave Cannon shot. It still looks cool though!!
I went ahead with the first stage from Delta for this ship because it works relatively well here. You can see how much bullet dodging I do against certain attacks here - something I'm not really good at, but it worked.
The boss, Moritz G, works just like in Delta, firing a gigantic laser, and then firing homing lightning balls at you. When you blow it up, it chases you from behind, which is new to the homage version of this stage. Its attacks don't change though - you just need to stick the Force on the back and shoot it. Shame both of the homage stages from Delta have mechanical bosses - I like the organic Bydo boss music better.
Fun facts - Principalities and Dominions are orders of angels in the bible. I'm assuming the fire based attacks are because angels supposedly used flaming swords. Principalities was in R-Type Tactics. Its Wave Cannon had an arc that could keep you out of danger, and basically screwed the Bydo side when you were using it, because they really couldn't counter your Wave Cannon blasts if you positioned yourself right. I had a whole squadron of Principalities when I was playing, and they were excellent.
