At first, I was ready to spend another night at the Laundromat waiting for the sun to come up. Then I thought, why not use the cover of darkness to go north and look at the River Port and see if I can bypass it. I set out using night vision, going on the main boulevard instead of passing through the Hospital. The road took me quickly north to the edge of the River Port and my binoculars just showed a stumbling Zombie there. No doubt there were Monolith, but I wasn't going to go close enough to see them.

I detected the three Zombies to the west that I had seen before, hanging out under the large unnatural object strung between the two buildings that appears to have some type of Poltergeist going up and down it. I kept going straight to the Prometheus Movie Theater, where I soon detected three NPCs that seemed to be inside the structure. I pulled out my AKS-74U for close combat indoors. Because I wanted to conserve my ammo, I put it on single fire.

I saw headlamps inside the theater, and I looked down a passage to come face to face with a Monolith soldier and I know he saw me, but I wonder if he thought I was just a wandering Zombie since he didn't get alarmed or shoot at me. I retreated, then waited and then I moved in and shot him. I saw another Monolith move toward the one that dropped. I retreated thinking he would follow me in that direction and then entered on the other side which was an identical passage. I didn't see the Monolith soldier as I turned and ran up the seating area but suddenly, I was being fired upon and was almost killed. I guess they had night vision too. I turned and used my AKS-74U again to kill him.

The third and last Monolith soldier knew his two comrades had just been killed but kept slipping in and out of the building trying to figure out what was going on. Did he not have night vision? It took slightly longer to bring him down but soon I was looting all three. I also found a much-needed stash of 5.45 ammo, VOG-25 and a grenade launcher behind a panel lying against the wall, in the back of the top row of the seating area.

Going deeper in the building, I find a small stage and use it to go to the second floor. Searching the building of all the rooms I could enter, all the hallways and passages I could go down, I descend a stairway and find an OG-7V round under a stairwell. On the first floor I continue searching and I find a locked gate going to a basement and right at that moment I hear a mutant sound. I decide not to linger and retrace my steps out of there.

Right when I get back to the main theater, I come face to face with a Pseudodog I blast with my shotgun. A second one appears, and I climb a ladder to a platform from which I kill another. It's time to leave before any others decide to move into the now empty location. I go outside still using my night vision and head south-east along the road. I stop when I detect the Zombie squad again. I look at my weight and consider attacking them since I had room for more, but right at that moment an Emission hits which ends that idea. I drink Hercules to increase my weight capacity and drink an Energy drink so that my stamina is peak and I can rush back to the safety of the Laundromat. My first successful Night Op ( Operations ) in Pripyat. The Old Service Center is next.
