Aww, I don't think I'm having a good day. When I flop in to ink and miss by a millimetre it really reflects how I'm feeling. So I just lie there for a bit, feeling sorry for myself. I can't stay there forever, though, and pick myself up to splat one inkling by accident, and although I don't stop the one throwing a clam in to our basket, I hit them mid-air while pulling out a Hammer. Not too shabby. Missing the next one, standing next to me, is unfortunate, though.

I quickly get bored of Torpedoes, never really liking the strategy of mostly throwing bombs anyway, and sit back and wait for them to come to me. It works fairly well, and with three inklings splatted a squdimate dashes with a power clam, as the last inkling persists in throwing Torpedoes, to score it. I'm not convinced it's safe for me to move forwards, not with our other squidmates splatted, so I hold my turf. I stop the Splatana Wiper, and our squidmates return to stop a power clam below. I drop down to try to catch an inkling, which I do, and another comes my way with a Hammer, which I stop with a pinch of luck. Pretty bad luck for the Hammer too.

We push forwards little by little, making progress to the orange basket, but their defence holds, and I find myself alone. Time to pull back, and perhaps a little further than I thought safe. I come back to avoid a Hammer, and find an inkling not hiding very well. I probe ahead with blasts, too much orange ink, and manage to land a Suction Bomb that surprises. Another Hammer wreaks a little havoc near our basket, but not much more.

With little orange activity and my Wave Breaker ready, I lunge forwards, running out of ink thanks to a Suction Bomb, but not needing it thanks to the Wave Breaker. My squidmates have the same idea, and together we work our way forwards with keen efficiency, breaking the orange barrier and adding extra power clams to leap well in to the lead. Splats are suffered, but on both sides, and somehow even super-jumping back to me lands my squidmates safely. We're not ready for another push, though, and even if we can hold the forward turf, maybe we shouldn't, not without clams. I am finally forced back and splatted by a Hammer.

The Splatana Wiper is waiting for me as I return. Maybe not me, but they're there and waiting. I don't rush in to them, and just wait and watch, moving up when it's safe, and trying to keep them at bay. It helps that a squidmate scores another power clam, but only a little, unlike the Splatana missing their throw on our basket, which helps a lot. A squidmate gets the splat, and we just have to defend for ten more seconds. And maybe some overtime. I catch a power clam coming, just as it turns in to a Hammer, and get a few glancing blasts that keep the orange team honest. A squidmate makes a dash with a power clam, and when it's dropped I leave it there as the bait it is, merely adding a Wave Breaker to it. We don't need the points, and it distracts the orange team nicely until time runs out. Woomy!
