Splatoon 3: Nullifying the charger in Nessie Splatfest [6(1)-5, Sploosh-o-matic]
Okay, my movement is pretty poor, being predictable and linear, but that shot from the Splatterscope is clean. We either need to stay away from them or splat them. I decide to stay away from them for now, not that it helps too much when the rest of the purple team are moving closer. I try pushing forwards again, halted by a Suction Bomb, and diving over the ledge after it only has the Splatterscope's laser train on me. I don't like it! I dodge this way and that, which shuffles them back, and I get up the mast, but a super-jumping squidmate of theirs does not help me.
Now what to do. We are pushed back, the charger has moved forwards, and it seems like they are controlling the entire ship. I see their shots come over the wall, and try to surge over it to surprise them. They're not there, and I'm able to move up and past the mast, where I see them duck in to ink. Have they not seen me? A panicked escape suggests as much, and I get close enough to splat them. That's a window of opportunity!
I start doing base things, as me and Frosty call it, albeit a bit further out than usual. I am caught by two alien inklings trying to get rid of me, and although I splat them both I am splatted too. Still, it has pushed their entire team back, and given our team a chance to gain some turf. I don't risk a super-jump back and go slowly, looking for the Splatterscope. They are being cagey, standing on a ledge, and I can't risk waiting on the wall. I chase one inkling for an assist and try the wall again, pushing forwards to put the Splatterscope under pressure again. That's another splat on them, and we can properly do base things! It's a shame my Hammer doesn't do anything, but getting that first splat on the charger felt pretty important in the context of the battle. Woomy!
