Splatoon 3: Defending the Signal in Nessie Splatfest [13(2)-3, Range Blaster]
Time for some Tri-colour battles! It's an all-Nessie affair, and we're defending. I've got favourite weapon the Range Blaster for this battle, which is immediately out-ranged by a Squeezer, which I'm not at all bitter about, and simply head back in to the fray to blast that hecking Squeezer with their Trizooka out. I turn and splat the green team trying to grab the Signal, and manage to dodge the Dualie Squelchers for long enough to get more ink and splat them too. This is going well! Oh, there's the Squeezer again.
The Dualie Squelchers gives me a nice target as I return, but I get momentarily confused by Super Chumps. The Squeezer is zooking again, and I can only get one glancing blast on them, but switching ends finds the Mini Splatling trying to hide behind cover. I turn again, and run out of ink after throwing a Suction Bomb at the Squeezer, and struggle to get more ink, only just getting enough to blast the Dualie Squelchers in the face. That gives me room to squid and replenish my ink tank, which means I can rush straight towards the Mini Splatling with undue confidence.
I get another nice target as I return, the green team losing turf just when we need them to, only for the Squeezer to appear behind me. I get away and keep them at bay using cover, and get some help from my squidmate who splats them to keep me safe. I run away from the Dualie Squelchers and towards the N-ZAP '89 and Mini Splatling, the latter evading me. I let them go and keep my focus on the Signal, and lo the Mini Splatling returns. They drop their Big Bubbler, but I get a blast through it before it inflates, ruining their plans. With seconds left in the battle, there are a few dashes for the Signal, and some running around to ink turf, but our defending team keeps them at bay to secure the victory. Woomy!
