Splatoon 3: Horrorboros at the Junction in Salmon Run [32-38-38-xf, 24/1749]
Another Run at the Junction. I've not had a tide change yet, which feels odd, but never mind. And squidmates aren't inking walls, which is sadly normal. At least I don't fly in to the water when jumping for a Flyfish, either time! I get very much out of position, even if I pivot nicely to a different Flyfish bin, but I make use of it by hopping on a Lid, and helping with a Steel Eel and Stinger on my way back. Or what ought to have been my way back, which instead was halted by a Chum. Multiple Splat Bombs are thrown at me, which is nice, but I can't get back to the basket now, not with a Big Shot nearby. I splat that, shoot a couple of eggs back, then retreat, helped by an inksploding Steelhead, where we just about manage to scrape quota. Then stuff ten more eggs in to the basket in the final seconds.
S-blast '92 next, and Glowflies! At least there seems to be an obvious place to stand for them, not that two squidmates catch on immediately. We get there, though, and start working together. Glowflies can be difficult even then, so the Specials start coming out, and I'm joining in with the Wavebreaker. They seem to work, giving us some space to work in, but it's not enough without the Specials. I think the S-blast '92 is handling things well, and our Sploosh-o-matic should be chewing through the Chum, with the other two focussing on the Goldies. Apparently not. More Specials, please! We get quota early, which is good, but surviving is more the challenge, and I worry when I get splatted. I'm revived, which is good, but more splats happen with seconds to go, so I turn and run. I get far enough away for the salmonids to turn around, and splitting their attention helps us to get to the final wave.
Sloshing next! Some easy bosses to start with, with my main problem being not picking up an egg. It's going well, though, with Scrappers and Lids coming to the basket, but over time that makes the basket crowded. I get some distance and try to slosh over the salmonids to revive my squidmates, which doesn't work, so I have to splat and get closer. It's good that I did, being the only one standing for a moment, and with some good movement and sloshing, we keep things together to finish the run nicely.
No, it's not over! It's an emergency! Here comes the Horrorboros, and me with the tiny Sploosh-o-matic. I'll be splatting things close to me, I suppose. I take that duty seriously, and keep the Chum under control, but I can also help with the Horrorboros by aiming eggs at its mouth. I do quite well to start with! Then I start missing, and not properly understanding the extent of the loop it is doing. I think a Fish Finger would help, which it might if a Stinger weren't shooting me. I get out of trouble and find more eggs, but it doesn't look like much has happened to the Horrorboros since the first few good hits. I splat a Lid, Fish Finger, and Stinger for more eggs, but it's all a bit too late.
