Splatoon 3: Keeping the splatted count low in Salmon Run [46-39-44, 45/922]
There's some good wall inking happening, which pleases me. There are still patches to be tidied up, which I do between early bosses, including waiting for a Steel Eel to pass, and being by the basket has eggs to be stuffed in. I help with a Flipper, as two Maws come our way, and we're racing towards quota by the half-way mark. I get on a Lid, cautious about dropping down where a Flipper is about to land, and manage to avoid that, turning to splat a Steelhead that's wandered up, and throw an egg to splat a Snatcher and ink the turf. The Flipper gives us more eggs, and we take the last few seconds throwing them in to the basket, for a nicely uneventful first wave.
I gamble on low tide next, and rush back as the tide comes in instead. A Stinger waddles on to shore, splatted almost instantly, and I do what I can with my Sloshing Machine to keep the Cohocks at bay. It's hard work. The first few bosses are splatted efficiently enough that a Flyfish is not a problem, and I head across to bring down a Lid. A Flipper stands no chance with two of us nearby, and although the Sloshing Machine is not ideal for a Stinger, I splat that too, using all my ink. A Smallfry evades me, so I take my time and aim, before missing a Maws. The Scrapper is easy to hit, at least, and I take some time throwing eggs in a quiet moment. That moment doesn't last, and I am bumped around. Quite why I head away from the Scrapper stopped at the basket to grab one egg elsewhere is maybe a mistake, but maybe not a bad idea that keeps me away from the Cohocks. I survive another wave, and we get another good egg count.
It's low tide for the third wave, giving more walls to ink. The Bloblobber doesn't handle that too gracefully but I do my best. It splats the Fish Finger nicely, though. A Stinger is splatted quickly, although it rather pushes us in to a corner, and a squidmate needs some help. I jump across to revive them, which gets another Stinger splatted, but a Big Shot has appeared. It looks lilac already, but I still need my silver badge, so I move up to help out. It's good that I do, as the squid dealing with it has been splatted. I revive them and help with the Big Shots, as there are two, and we quickly get loads of eggs to shoot towards the basket. I go back to help get them actually in to the basket, where more appear, thanks to a Scrapper and a Lid, one falling on the other to have eggs easily dunkable. I keep dunking until time runs out, taking our tally up to a pretty good count. I even managed to stay unsplatted, which is a nice change. Woomy!
