Splatoon 3: Fog clears to our favour in Salmon Run [27-50-50, 28/797]
In rolls the fog. And with it, a Stinger. I stick at the back, dealing with Chum and Cohocks, and never really get past that, at least not before that Stinger is splatted. Or maybe more come up behind the first one, I can't tell. As we don't have more than two eggs in the basket in the first half of the wave, I'm going to guess that the first Stinger was difficult. A second is closer, but a Cohock gets the better of me before I can do much about that either. We might be at risk of getting overwhelmed, but I get to the Stinger and splat it, and half a Flyfish, but can't get on top of a Lid. We need more eggs in the basket, so I let it slide and head back, bypassing a Steel Eel going for a squidmate to more eggs. Becoming the last inkling standing is an issue, though. I hop in to my Crab, splat the Steel Eel before it splats me, and revive a squidmate. They revive the other two with an Inkjet, and my Crab gets the eggs we need in to the basket. That was oddly tense.
The fog clears for the second wave, even as the tide comes in. I have the Dynamo Roller, a very useful weapon in Salmon Run, if maybe at a slight disadvantage with less turf to work in. The first few bosses are easy enough, and I try to do too much, really, wasting ink throwing Splat Bombs at Maws. I keep the Cohock population under control, though, an important part of the Dynamo Roller's duties. My Fish Finger flicking is weak, taking far too many goes to splat them, the same being true of the Lid beneath me. But we have quota nice and early. I add to it, slowly, from the Fish Finger, dropping down a bit too languidly to help stuff the basket. We still bag the half-century.
The final wave grants me an L-3 Nozzlenose, which is good fun, and the tide goes out a little. A Fish Finger is easy, whatever was down the ramp was splatted before I knew it, and I resist going to get an egg to wait for the Steel Eel I see. A Lid appears too, and I bring that down when the turf is clear. The bosses are splatted with little ceremony, although I'm a little disappointed I don't reflect the Drizzler's missile back at it. I try to get up another Fish Finger, but the salmonids say no. Fair enough, I go back to the basket to deliver an egg, flirting with a Flipper, and bagging a Maws. The basket stays busy, and with two squidmates dealing with distant bosses we can cram the eggs in. When the eggs dry up, I finally splat the Fish Finger, and a second that appears, sacrificing an extra egg or two from our total to do so. I think it's a fair trade, as we hit the half-century again. Woomy!
