Splatoon 3: Chaos over strategy in Tower Control [10(2)-5, Carbon Roller Deco]
I prepare some walls and move forwards, chasing an inkling around a corner. And I lose them. That they're behind me is not that much of a surprise. Still, my squidmates are pushing the Tower, which is good. I think a super-jump back is a good idea, until I land. So it's slow and steady instead, as the green team take over the Tower, and take our lead. I lie in wait, and somehow am not splatted when my ambush goes wrong. The inkling I'm chasing could easily turn around and splat me too, but they run, handing me the splat, but that doesn't stop the Tower. I turn back and, with little ink to hide in, don't surprise the Splat Roller, but at least I help a little.
Strategy isn't working, not that I had much, so it's time to just wade in and start flicking. I get in to trouble, am chased, and pull the Han Solo manoeuvre. Somehow it even works, and I get three splats under my belt. A fourth from a squidmate gives us the Wipeout, and we start moving the Tower back. My Tri-zooka doesn't do much, and dropping down to look for splats doesn't find much. Skirmishing further does, thanks to a little help from a squidmate acting as an unexpected distraction, and another splat gets a second Wipeout, letting us reclaim the retreating Tower.
The green team return once more, and I dive to try to intercept one of them, only to dive in to their shooting ink. I don't know why I still do that. I risk a super-jump back to the action, a risk that pays off this time, as our Range Blaster seals another Wipeout, ensuring a safe landing, and they push the Tower in to the lead as I hit the turf. Nice! I surge past the Tower to provide some forward ink, which would work better if I didn't just rush in to returning and aggressive inklings. I barely stopped them. My squidmates keep going, at least, and get splats with it. The green team are wiped out again.
I super-jump back safely and get on to the Tower, trying to hide behind the column for safety. I poke my nose out to flick here and there, hoping to splat the threats away, but the Tower moving smoothly on is enough for us, as we trundle to the goal. Woomy!
