A modern game? I guess so. I somehow found this on Steam while looking for something else and it looked fun. Turns out it really is. This is my first playthrough of the game with no prior knowledge other than what I read on Steam. As of the time of this recording the game is still in an early access state and is up to version 0.2.13c.

The game doesn't seem to have a story mode or any "normal" game progression so I guess the goal for now is to beat every stage on both the regular and hyper (faster) modes. I kind of like the openness and pick-up-and-play style of this one though. There are also a bunch of achievements and fun things to unlock. The game is actively being updated so I suspect there will be even more to come.

After recording videos of Defense Grid and this game, I learned a bit about bitrates and how my OBS setting of a 3,000 constant bitrate was way too low. I'm experimenting to find the best settings that look good but don't require a new hard drive every few weeks. Currently running some tests with CQP to compare with CBR and VBR. Future video qualities will improve.

1 hour, 55 minutes, 15 seconds - My controller goofed up here and left me walking up and to the left for almost 15 seconds. Somehow I was perfectly fine, mostly because your character automatically attacks in this game!
