Transcript:
What If Fallen Son? Following the end of Civil War, Steve is not assassinated and he's found guilty and sentenced for opposing the Superhero Registration Act. As Tony gives the news in a press conference, the nephew of the slain Goliath uses his own powers to crush Tony in revenge, and his loss bolsters support behind the registration. Heroes become more militaristic and government dictated, with Gyrich taking control of the training initiative, while indoctrinated heroes hunt down those opposed to the act. Red Skull Lukin absorbs Stark Enterprises into his Kronas Corporation, also terminating Pepper Potts employment, and beginning production on mass producing Iron Man war suits. A large funeral service is held for Tony, where his body is launched into space as multiple heroes watch, including Steve. And it's revealed without Tony, the Skrulls infiltration has succeeded and their Secret Invasion has turned into a full scale invasion. As you can tell by how short that sum-up was, there's really not much story to this. Sectioning it into the stages of grief was clever, but it just feels like a sequence of bulletpoints with the comic saying "this happened, then this happened." The artwork's well drawn, but very muddy and unappealing to look at, with solid color filters slapped across entire pages. This issue's not awful, I just can't come up with a reason to read it. And so boring, I can't come up with an end stinger.
