#143 KID KLOWN IN CRAZY CHASE - FULL PLAYTHROUGH (Normal) - Beating My SNES Games.
Here is my full playthrough of Imperium done, as always using original hardware on a Super Nintendo with no cheats or save states!
Follow me on instagram @Cabin_game_fever to join me live or via my reviews and uploads to witness me take down all the games currently in my SNES colleciton, following on from having already beaten all 234 licenced UK releases for the NES. I only use original carts, no cheats & no save states.
REVIEW: (Posted originally on Instagram):
-Good job no one had the idea of spelling 'crazy' with a K or this might have been a very different kind of game! Thankfully the action instead involves racing to the end of each stage and kicking a bomb
(illadvised!), before a fuse, lit by some creepy, Macintosh wearing, Waluigi lookalike reaches it first and detonates the level!
Unfortunately simply making it there first isnt good enough. Along the way you're required to locate the 4 Ace cards from each of the 4 suits hidden inside random balloons. The locations of these tend to remain the same between playthroughs, though I did note occasional location change. Failure to locate all cards, forces you to restart the stage, albeit with your current card acquisitions still in place but with health not replenished, its certainly advisable to try and obtain them all in the first run.
The gameplay is challenging, largely at first due to familiarising yourself with the slightly confusing isometric control perspective, then almost exclusively down to memorising the endless sea of traps. However once these two steps have been mastered, most players will likely make it through to the end fairly painlessly.
While the gameplay promotes a sense of urgency, you've actually got alot more time than you first think, proving that a more cautious approach is far more profitable than charging through at top speed and suffering the infuriating slowdowns from the endless array of hidden traps. They're everywhere, going so far as to leave you with only a 50/50 chance of saving the princess at the end of the game or seeing her blown up 😂, depending on which locks you try!
I normally have little patience for games that revel solely in beginner traps but given that's the essence of gameplay (much like Paperboy), its fair to cut it some slack.
The backgrounds are vibrant, animations are cute & gameplay is pretty fun. The main issue is it's simply too short! With only 5 stages, once you've memorized the hazards the game could be finished in under 30mins.
Overall a solid evenings play however despite the option of Hard mode, without multiplayer, the replay appeal is kinda low.
