Announcement: This will be the last clip in this Aki ASMR series, but I have posted an epilogue of sorts in my community tab in the form of a translation of something Aki has said about doing ASMR in the modern era, so I’m sure if you liked this series, you’ll find that interesting.

Gushing:
If you know my tastes, you may have seen this one coming. Of course the series finale has to be makechae plus the echo, 2 of my favorite things. The way you can hear her click the setting before the says each line gives me goosebumps every time, it’s like you can hear her charging up her attack. This was also Aki’s last normal ASMR stream before the purges, so it’s fitting in that way as well. The fact that her mic was malfunctioning/semi-broken in this stream and yet it still turned out so godly just goes to show what I always say: That sound/equipment quality or technical expertise doesn’t matter hardly at all and what matters the most by far is the character of the person streaming. I think most people who watch ASMR from their favorite vtubers would agree with me that some background noise or relatively cheap equipment doesn’t matter as long as they like the vtuber’s personality, a lesson I think a lot of vtubers would really benefit from internalizing. “Talent” at things like ASMR (or anything, really) is overrated compared to kindness (which is why I dislike that term in reference to vtubers themselves). I have a few more final thoughts on this series, but I’ve put them in with the epilogue community post.

Timestamp to make it so youtube doesn't interpret my TNs as “chapters”: 19:25

Translator’s notes:
0:13 What she says here and then repeats is the connective form of the verb “dekiru,” meaning “to be able to,” and the past tense of the verb “kuru,” meaning in this context to have become a certain way, resulting in the silly-sounding phrase “dekite kita.”
1:30 Aki’s usual first-person pronoun and nickname is “Akirose.” In this clip, she also uses “watashi,” a standard choice that leans slightly formal and slightly feminine.
3:12 Not sure if she just messed up saying “shuuchuu” (concentrate) here or if she’s trying to emphasize the “chuu” (as in like a kiss).
4:47 This of course refers to the “M” in “S/M.” You will often hear these terms prefixed with the intensifier “do,” which I believe is derived from the word meaning “degree” or “extent,” so “do-M” as she says here would be very literally something like “masochist to a great degree” or “a great degree of masochism.”
7:50 “Makechae” (‘give in’) is a very wonderful and spicy word that comes from the verb “makeru,” meaning to give up or lose, but conjugated in both the imperative and the unintentional forms, which results in a verb form that essentially implies “I order you to do X (even though you’re not trying to do that).” This of course has a lot of fun applications, and Aki is a very formidable wielder of it.
13:34 Minor point since I thought this might be a little jarring: In Japanese, the topic of a sentence (in this case “I” or “you”) can be dropped as long as it can be inferred through context, which is why suki/daisuki seems to change ‘direction’ like this.
13:50 This line is very hard for me to hear with the echo so I’ve subbed it as what it sounds like to me but I could very easily be mishearing.
17:40 Similarly to dropping the topic, the word order of this sentence is of course different than in English, with “love” placed at the end, so really what she’s asking here is more like “you … me?” but that doesn’t work in English at all so I have to rephrase it in a bit of a roundabout sort of way.
