“Hey, hey! You mad?” “Laisse la mitraille tirer.”

Gushing:
Ah yes, my favorite unlikely pairing, Soya and Napolitan, I mean Napoleon. I’d love to see some romcom-type 4komas or something based on that premise. Her wanting to touch everyone’s face is also hilarious, she’s like a dog who tries to lick everyone’s face at all times, but a dog that tries to squeeze everyone’s cheeks instead. Her getting asked “where” and taking forever to think about it only to bluntly answer “face” makes me laugh every time. I like how touchy-feely she is and of course I’d let her squeeze my cheeks if she’s gentle.

Timestamp to make it so youtube doesn't interpret my TNs as “chapters”: 7:21

Translator’s notes:
Start: Soya often uses a variety of first-person pronouns. In this clip, she uses both “watashi” (a standard choice that leans slightly formal and slightly feminine) and “Soya,” her nickname, which is different from her family name’s normal pronunciation of “Souya,” although she’ll often just pronounce that as “Soya” anyway. She changed her usual(-ish) first-person pronoun from “Ichika” to “Soya” so that people would call her Soya because it’s easier to egosearch.
0:13 “Clothes game” refers I believe to Shining Nikki, a gacha game Soya plays off stream about doll-like characters and their clothes that describes itself as a “3D dress-up game.”
3:40 “Ei ei, okotta?” (often rendered as “hey, hey, you mad?”, with “ei” really being a sound effect for some sort of physical contact, in the original meme a punch but in Soya’s case more of a poke) is a meme from the first panel of the 4koma manga (and later anime adaptation) originally drawn by bkub named… y’know, I don’t even know what to call it. The Japanese transliterates directly to “Poputepipikku,” but I often see it as “Poptepipic,” but I’m not sure where that spelling comes from, and in the original comic it’s subtitled in English “Pop Team Epic” despite that being not at all what it says.
4:06 “Girl’s Side” refers to “Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side” sub-series of the “Tokimeki Memorial” series of romance games, with the Girl’s Side games (which Soya has streamed before) featuring a female protagonist and a selection of male love interests.
4:10 “Strategy” here is really the same word as “walkthrough” earlier. Both these uses are derived from its original definition of “conquest,” as it evolved to also refer to a strategic ‘conquest’ of any sort of problem, and from there a walkthrough on how to strategically ‘conquer’ a video game.
6:52 “Ciaon” (direct transliteration: “Chaon”) is Soya’s custom greeting. I believe it’s derived from “ciao” (hello in Italian).
