“With a camel, you can go anywhere you want,” she said to herself, out loud.

Gushing:
Come for the beautiful laugh, stay for the hilarious jokes. These are the kind of great things that happen when vtubers have unrestricted access to google earth. This is from the great series “Kiki Sanpo,” literally “Kiki Walk,” in which she takes us around the world to various interesting locations for some relaxing virtual sightseeing. It’s a really nice stream concept and much more laid-back than the usual geoguesser type stuff people do.

Timestamp to make it so youtube doesn't interpret my TNs as “chapters”: 1:56

Translator’s notes:
The quiz she’s playing can be found here: https://earth.google.com/web/data=CiQSIhIgYmI1ZWFhODA3NWNhMTFlYWFhNDU3YjhhNzIxMWMyMmM
0:40 Hence the text color, this message from chat was actually posted by Kiki’s genmate Touri Sei: https://www.youtube.com/@Sei_Touri
0:51 The “old men” mentioned throughout this clip are of course the minecraft merchants, which are commonly called “oji-san” (often shortened to “ossan”), which is a term not for an elderly man but for an arbitrarily older-ish man who could be ‘middle-aged’ or just older than the person speaking.
1:10 Kiki makes a couple reading mistakes here: She starts to say chi-something (chishi?) rather than “toshi” (city), and reverses “hodo chikai” (nearby) into “chikai hodo.”
1:24 Etymology on this, strap in: Konnichiwa (hello/good day) → Nichiwa → Chiwa → Chiwa desu → Chiwassu → Chissu
1:31 Fact check: As the largest living camel, dromedary camels have been very commonly ridden throughout history and still are today.
1:40 Shinbashi is a district of Tokyo famous for being full of salarymen.
1:45 “Hage,” meaning “baldness,” can considered a rude term when used to refer to a bald person and can also be used to mean “idiot.”
