Borderlands 3 PC - Aim Down Sights Stutter improved-fixed (1.01 Patch testing)
Hello, everybody.
Just a quick video update on the stutter / Aim Down Sights issues after testing the 1.01 client patch released today, September 26th, at least on PC, it’s been available for a couple hours already this evening (CET time). You can check the patch notes here: https://bit.ly/2m41MFs.
As a reminder in case you don’t watch my other testing videos, I’m going to paste here my PC specs, in case something is wondering:
-CPU: i5 4690K@4.4 GHz with Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO.
-Mobo: Asus Maximus VII Ranger (Z97).
-GPU: Inno3D Twin X2 GTX 1070 (stock) and WHQL driver 436.30.
-RAM: 16 GB DDR3@1866, 9-10-9-28.
-Storage: Kingston SSDNow 300, 240 GB (O.S.), Samsung 750 EVO 500 GB (Game).
-O.S: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit with latest updates.
-Monitor: AOC AGON AG251FG 1080p-240Hz
And yeah, after some good 15 minutes fragging stuff and you know, testing the ADS on a couple weapons, much like I did in my first video regarding this issue, the patch does indeed seem to have improved things a lot, in my case I could say it’s basically gone, the stutter, at least when scoping or using ADS.
I haven’t tested all of the different scopes, I don’t even have any sniper rifles stored, I throw them all away, since I’m mostly playing melee’ish Amara so quick-scoping from 50 cms away would get me a bit dizzy. But, since in my original video even the normal scopes found in shotguns and SMGs already presented severe stuttering, I tested similar scopes here, and yeah as we can see from the frame-time graph, there are no major stutters happening. We can still notice some spikes randomly when moving around, or of course when loading a whole area (this was happening to me since day 1, not sure if it’s a CPU issue, disk…it lasts for like 5 seconds on entering a new area, then it’s over and smooth all the time).
So yeah, just that, made this shorter video showing a little bit of gameplay, a quick benchmark with High preset, with Aniso x16, Material and Volumetrics on Medium, the usual “tune down and gimme 20% extra FPS” settings adjusted. Seems quite fine, to be honest, even doing a quick boss run at capped 60 FPS seems to be fine, almost no frame time spikes except in the rare occasion where it’s clear that my CPU is struggling a bit, because it’s supposed to, it’s old, yeah, but nothing major, big improvements overall at least for me, can’t deny it.
Hope you guys can notice any major improvements as well in your games, and if not leave a comment and of course keep reporting in the official channels.
