Greetings, everyone.

Today we’re testing the Beyond: Two Souls PC demo, recently released via the Epic Games Store. Much like with Heavy Rain, last month, we got a playable demo with a couple sections of the game, so since it’s free and all (yeah, demos, they’re cool) let’s dive right into it.

Before that, here are my current PC specs:

-CPU: i5 4690K@4.4 GHz with Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO.
-Mobo: Asus Maximus VII Ranger (Z97).
-GPU: Inno3D Twin X2 GTX 1070 (stock) and WHQL driver 430.86.
-RAM: 16 GB DDR3@1866, 9-10-9-28.
-Storage: Kingston SSDNow 300, 240 GB (O.S.), Samsung 750 EVO 500 GB (Game).
-O.S: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit with latest updates.
-Monitor: AOC AGON AG251FG 1080p-240Hz

Since I tested Heavy Rain already, and this game is pretty much built on the same framework as the former, we’ll see a lot of similarities when it comes to graphical settings and the like.

Control settings are quite decent for mouse and keyboard, except the inability to map extra mouse buttons, like mouse3, 4 and 5, but for the most part I was able to use my trusty left handed controls, no problems. Of course, this game also has native Dualshock 4 support, on all its versions, I myself use the DS4 v2, and it works perfectly with no additional software required, using it wired though, so I can’t comment on the wireless part for this game.

Not much difference among quality presets, since the game has quite low requirements, so any normal PC should have not many issues running this on High settings and 1080p. As seen in the video, with my GTX 1070 I can push 4K DSR with not many issues, some drops below 60 FPS on certain heavy explosion scenes, but those are not too common and in general, it runs at a stable 60 FPS.

So that’s about it, honestly, the demo seems pretty solid, no issues for me, and yeah, if you enjoyed this game on consoles, probably could get a decent replay experience with pretty higher resolutions if you’re able to do so on your rig.

As usual, I hope this can be useful to any of you, and I’ll see you in the next one : )
