Candied Bacon Gravy and Biscuits… it’s what’s for Breakfast! #shorts
This is Bacon Gravy on another level! With all the options out there for holiday morning breakfast… this one should make the decision a little easier!
Ingredients:
• Biscuits
• 1 lb of bacon
• 2-3 tbsp maple syrup
• Fresh cracked pepper
• 1 tbsp Korean chili flakes
• 2 tbsp brown sugar
• 1/4 cup reserved bacon grease
• 1/4 cup ap flour
• 2.5 cups whole milk
• 1/2 cup heavy cream
• fresh cracked pepper
Instructions:
1. First we need to make the candied bacon. Start by preheating the oven to 375 F. Then place the bacon down on a cooling rack placed on top of a foil lined baking sheet.
2. Place the strips of bacon down, then brush on the maple syrup. Then too with pepper and chili flakes before adding the brown sugar last. Then place in the oven for 20-25 minutes!
3. When the bacon is done, reserve the drippings. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the drippings to the skillet.
4. Whisk in the flour, and continue to whisk until it’s browned, slightly clumpy and forms a fragrant roux.
5. Slowly add the milk, 1/2 cup or so at a time. Whisk constantly and break up the clumps that form. Once the milk has been added, you can add the heavy cream and keep stirring.
6. Season with pepper and let this thicken up over 8-10 minutes on medium low heat.
7. Serve hot over biscuits topped with diced candies bacon and parsley…. and enjoy!!
