Due to a log interruption, we resume our voyage, where we were about to drop off ANOTHER SEAL team at Yulin, Hainan Island, China.
After trying several approaches only to have it blocked by either the ASW helo with dipping sonar or another sonobuoy drop by the patrol plane, or one of the ships coming back, I decided the best way is to simply remove both ships with long-range torpedo shots, then make an end-run to the west and approach the landing zone from the southwest.
And it went exactly as I planned. The ASW plane and helo never reacted to the destruction of the 2 frigates, as they just kept on scanning the ocean. We went west, then northeast toward the landing zone in like 30m of water, and found the minefield that blocked the direct approach. We came out roughly the same way we came in, but then we cut the corner just around the minefield, then thread the gap between sonobuoys, and raced for open waters, and was never detected by the ASW air assets.
Mission accomplished!
