(CCPlays) Cold Waters Dot MOD | Y2K NATO Campaign | Part 30: Interdict Replenishment Convoy (again)
0Previously, in the Cold Waters (DotMod) Y2000 NATO campaign, we had destroyed yet some MORE ships PLAN bought from Russia, but it's just a couple Karas and such cruisers.
20-OCT-00 Received new priority mission
MISSION: Interdict resupply convoy leaving Qingdao for Yellow Sea (between Korea and China)
21-OCT-00 Arrived in patrol area in Yellow Sea, detected convoy. While depth is only about 130 m, we don't need much as noise made us nearly undetectable... unless a dipping sonar and/or sonobuoy dropped on top of us.
Sonar quickly IDed convoy to be Fuqing tender and Luhu, Jiangwei, Jianghu, and Jianghu3 as escorts.
I fired 5 torpedoes when the range hit 20 km. I let the torpedoes go about 8 km before doglegging them into the convoy. I noticed dipping sonar and sonobuoys between me and them, so this should confuse things, but to be safe I turned east and started moving. Soon all were sunk, and the patrol aircrafts still have no idea where I shot from.
I disengaged and was congratulated on another mission accomplished.
