Control: Part 07
I'm bummed to have lost a little bit of gameplay do to my system restarting. After checking the Event Viewer it appears a BugCheck caused it. This has been happening infrequently over the last few months and I thought I had solved it, but it looks as though I solved the wrong problem. Needless to say, I think I solved it now. I hope.
So what did I miss recording? Not a whole lot. I found the Hypnosis Lab and cleansed the Object of Power that gives the Seize ability. It's actually a cool ability. It allows you to turn your enemies into your allies. The battles ahead proved this to be somewhat useful, though I don't know how much. I took on Salvador, a character I don't remember much about and then I made my way to find Dylan. Along the way there was something about a refrigerator and taking on a boss that I gave up after a few attempts. Either I'm bad at games or my abilities aren't robust enough to make the battle manageable for me.
I was, again, dreading this play session. I didn't want to take on anything challenging. I just wanted to play the game and not feel any frustration. What is especially frustrating is dying and then having to sit through a lengthy loading screen. These loading screens are unconscionably long on the Xbox One X. It's likely one of the only significant marks against this game I would give Control. Everything else is excellent or nothing that seems to detract from the overall experience.
I do like that I'm popping a few Achievements with every play session. This is another way I gauge progression. I may not be getting anywhere in the game, but if I pop some Achievements at least I have a sense of accomplishment. I don't think I'm interested in playing the game after I complete the story so 100%ing the game is out of the question.
I have absolutely no idea how much of the game I have left. I thought I would be nearing the end with my last play session, but it seems there is still a little ways to go. Or maybe I'm on the home stretch and I only have about an hour of the game left. That would be great. I guess we'll have to way to see in the next play session.
